The landscape of televised golf is set to evolve with the announcement of a multi-year partnership between NBC Sports Next’s GolfNow and Boston Common Golf. This collaboration marks the beginning of a new era for the sport, with Boston and New England’s representation through a tech-forward team in the TGL series.

Will McIntosh, President of NBC Sports Next, expressed excitement about the innovation-driven partnership with Boston Common Golf. He emphasized the mission of enhancing significant events through creative initiatives and valued the continued collaboration with golf star Rory McIlroy to broadcast the emergence of Boston Common Golf in the TGL.

Managing Director of Rory McIlroy Inc., Sean O’Flaherty, highlighted the innovative nature of the partnership, which builds upon McIlroy’s existing relationship with NBC Sports Next, including the GolfNow and GolfPass platforms. O’Flaherty accentuated McIlroy’s anticipation in giving fans an intimate perspective of the team’s progress and maintaining the rich sports tradition of the region.

The partnership will be brought to life through “The Making of a Boston Sports Team” (working title), a digital docuseries set to debut on GolfPass’s streaming channel. The series promises to provide an unprecedented look at the formation and journey of Boston Common Golf, with coverage extending to other platforms like Peacock, NESN, and various free ad-supported televisions.

Boston Common Golf President & CEO Mark Lev shared his enthusiasm for the partnership and the unique content it will generate. He underscored the docuseries as a foundational element of the partnership, aimed at captivating fans and marking the start of their inaugural season.
