Russell Knox was born June 21, 1985, in Inverness, Scotland. He attended Jacksonville University in Florida, where he played collegiate golf from 2003-2007, earning All-American honors.

Professional Career
Knox turned professional in 2007 and earned his PGA Tour card in 2012. His breakthrough victory came at the 2015 WGC-HSBC Champions, making him the first Scottish player to win a World Golf Championships event.

He added a second PGA Tour victory at the 2016 Travelers Championship.
